I'm so glad i found this article. I woke up very early this morning thinking about AI. It's not something I actively use much but I am eager to understand it better and how we can engage with it meaningfully. I'm particularly considering it's language/cultural limitations and potential. I'm a polyglot and now-retired musician. I consider music to be my best language in which to communicate and be understood around the world. Loss of cultural nuance and hence understanding is one of my greatest concerns for our future. To me this is also a great opportunity for AI to help us along a better path to understanding each other. First step though, is for people (especially mono-lingual english speakers) to become aware of these issues.

Thanks for giving me some great food for thought at the start of my day. I suspect I'll be chewing on this for a long time! Hasta luego!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a meaningful comment, Gianetta!

I'm not a musician but I do love music, and one of my favorite things in the world is to sit down in my living room and listen to a nice record (I ❤️ Bruckner).

You are right, there's so much richness in cultural nuance, and I'm also concerned that AI (with all its pros) might end up watering down our cultural identity.

There is also another problem with multilingual AI, and it is that speaking to an AI is more expensive depending on the language you use.

My latest post is about that, I think you might like it: https://www.myaijourney.co/p/is-it-more-expensive-to-use-ai-in

Gracias de nuevo por tu comentario, me ha encantado!
